Video Bump was honored to be selected by Child & Family Center to produce a special commemorative video celebrating the nonprofit organization’s 50th anniversary. The project brought together five decades of memories, milestones and personal stories to recognize an organization that has played an important role in the Santa Clarita Valley since 1976.
For half a century, Child & Family Center has worked to strengthen children, individuals and families through mental health services, family support programs, domestic violence services and community outreach. To commemorate this remarkable milestone, the organization wanted to tell its story through the voices of the people who have been part of its journey.
50 Years of History, Told Through 35 Voices
Rather than simply presenting a timeline of accomplishments, the anniversary video takes a personal approach to documenting the organization’s history.
Video Bump recorded interviews with 35 individuals whose lives have intersected with Child & Family Center over the past five decades. The participants included former employees, clients, board members, community supporters, local leaders and elected officials.
Each interview offered a unique perspective, from memories of the organization’s humble beginnings in 1976 to reflections on its growth into one of the Santa Clarita Valley’s most important nonprofit service providers.
Together, their stories paint a picture of an organization built on compassion, dedication and a shared commitment to helping others.
Preserving the Stories Behind the Milestones
The interviews highlight many of the people, programs and events that have defined Child & Family Center’s history.
Longtime supporters recalled beloved community fundraising events such as Taste of the Town, Family Fun Nite and Purple Palooza. Others shared memories of the organization’s early years, the construction of its permanent home, the development of new services and the people whose commitment helped the Center grow.
Some of the most powerful moments came from personal reflections about the difference Child & Family Center has made in the lives of individuals and families throughout the community.
While the video celebrates major accomplishments, it also recognizes something that cannot always be measured through statistics: the lasting impact of helping people through difficult times.
Creating a Lasting Video Legacy
For Video Bump, the project was an opportunity to do more than produce an anniversary video. It was a chance to help preserve an important part of Santa Clarita Valley history.
By bringing together interviews from so many people connected to the organization, the production captures a collection of memories and firsthand accounts that can be shared with future generations.
The project also extended beyond the finished commemorative film. Individual interview excerpts were edited into shorter videos for Child & Family Center’s social media channels, allowing the organization to share additional stories throughout its 50th anniversary celebration.
This approach gave the organization both a centerpiece anniversary video and a collection of engaging content to support its ongoing community outreach.
