Video Bump Produces Silver Spur Celebration Fundraising Video Honoring Ed Masterson
Video Bump Inc. was proud to partner once again with the College of the Canyons Foundation to produce the featured fund-a-need video for the 34th Annual Silver Spur Celebration, which honored longtime community leader and philanthropist Ed Masterson.
Held on May 30, 2026, the annual Silver Spur Celebration recognized Masterson for his decades of support for College of the Canyons and his lasting contributions to the Santa Clarita Valley community. As part of the evening’s fundraising efforts, the College of the Canyons Foundation commissioned Video Bump to create a short documentary highlighting the impact of the college’s Commercial Music Program and the future opportunities being created through the Ed Masterson “Voice of Santa Clarita” Endowment.
As a Santa Clarita video production company specializing in documentary storytelling, nonprofit fundraising campaigns, and turnkey video solutions, Video Bump worked closely with the Foundation and college leadership to develop a compelling story centered on creativity, education, and real-world career development in the entertainment industry.
The resulting film showcased how the College of the Canyons Commercial Music Program provides students with hands-on, industry-level experience in music production, recording, and performance. With the entertainment industry constantly evolving, the documentary focused on how access to professional training and modern recording technology can help students bridge the gap between passion and profession.
The documentary featured interviews with Bill Macpherson, Chair of the Music Department, and Andy McCutcheon, Dean of the School of Humanities, both of whom discussed the program’s commitment to preparing students for careers in music and entertainment.
The video also highlighted the personal journeys of current students Orion Kwon and Kevin Martinez, who shared how the Commercial Music Program helped them develop confidence, creativity, and technical skills through performance and recording opportunities.
One of the film’s standout moments featured Brooke Bailey, a 2025 College of the Canyons alumna, reflecting on how the program helped launch her professional career. Her story included becoming a quarter finalist on America’s Got Talent and performing in the touring Broadway production of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.
At the center of the documentary was the college’s new industry-standard recording studio, designed to give students access to the same professional tools and workflows used throughout the music and entertainment industries. Throughout production, the Video Bump team captured cinematic footage inside the recording studio, classrooms, rehearsal spaces, and live performance environments to visually demonstrate the immersive learning experience available to students.
Production photos from the project showcased students working with professional audio equipment, recording sessions inside the new studio space, interviews filmed on campus, and performances that reflected the energy and creativity of the program.
The film also emphasized the importance of continued philanthropic support through the Ed Masterson “Voice of Santa Clarita” Endowment. Created in honor of Masterson’s legacy of community service and support for education, the endowment helps ensure that future students will continue to have access to high-quality training, equipment, and career-building opportunities.
For Video Bump, the project represented another opportunity to help a nonprofit organization tell a meaningful story through professional video production and documentary filmmaking. Fundraising videos like this play an important role in helping educational institutions connect emotionally with donors while demonstrating the direct impact of community support.
As a Los Angeles-area video production company based in Santa Clarita, Video Bump continues to specialize in nonprofit storytelling, commercial production, podcast studio development, and content creation services designed to help organizations engage audiences and inspire action.
